What You’ll Need

Before starting the Claude Code training, you need:

  1. Claude Code access -- get this first!

  2. A terminal / command-line interface

  3. Python package manager: uv

  4. Claude Code installed

Claude Code works with Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise, Console/API billing, or a supported enterprise provider. The free Claude plan does not include Claude Code.

This guide covers macOS installation. Claude can help you with the remaining steps!

Before we can start the Claude Code training, you'll need a few things set up on your Mac.

Most importantly, you need a Claude Pro account. This costs 20 dollars per month. Get this first!

Once you have Claude Pro, Claude can actually help you with the rest of the setup. So we'll start there.

After that, you'll need a terminal for running commands, the uv Python package manager, and Claude Code itself.
